Massanutten Trail
George Washington National Forest, VA
70 mile loop along ridges above a sparsely populated valley. Mostly single-track with a few short sections following old roads.
I did this trail in March 2018 over 5 days. Lots of views from the tops of ridges, and a nice variety of scenery from the windswept ridges to the forested valley bottom. Water was easy to find at the time I hiked it but people said it can be a lot more scarce in the summer.
